The perfect girl’s night in for less

The cost of going out is going up, which means that less people are going out, and they’re going out less often. Your pay packet won’t cover quite as much, and if the nightclubs are particularly quiet then the chances are you’re going to come home feeling like you’ve wasted some money.

Fortunately you can have just as much fun at home, and save yourself an absolute fortune. Here are two tips for organising a girl’s night in without blowing your budget:

1. Buy cheap alcohol.

Obviously the biggest expense on nearly any night out is the alcohol. If you’re heading from pub to pub and then club to club, not only will you be forking out a few notes to get into the action, you’re also going to be paying a premium for the drinks. Supermarket booze is much cheaper, and if you’re not all that bothered about drinking the biggest brands you can save yourself a bundle. Sometimes even your favourite tipple is on offer, so you can have a guilt free session with the girls from time to time.

2. Don’t spend too much on entertainment.

If you’re with some good friends it doesn’t really matter what you do, but whatever you had planned, the chances are good that there’s a budget equivalent that won’t disappoint. If you’d thought about heading to your local bingo hall, or finishing off at the casino because it’s open a little later, you could always play bingo online with Ladbrokes and not get the same pressure to spend your money. It doesn’t have to be your whole night, and you can go for hours on just a few pennies.

Likewise if you’d planned on going to the cinema, you could always watch a DVD – if you’ve seen them all then maybe one of the girls has one that you could all watch? Supermarket popcorn is about a tenth as expensive as the cinema equivalent, and you don’t have to sneak your wine in.
