It is a great feeling to have a smart new mobile phone but what about when you aren’t as proud of your phone as you should be? If you are starting to have nagging doubts about whether it is time to change your phone then here are some tips to help you decide whether to ditch it or not.
You Try and Hide It
Have you perfected the art of sending text messages while your phone is still inside your pocket or do you hunch over it when you are using it in public? If you are embarrassed by your phone then it is definitely time to switch to one which will make you feel prouder of it. This is especially important if you work in a job in which your image is very important. In this case the last thing you will want is for your clients to see that you are trying desperately to make a call without them seeing your old phone.
It Doesn’t Work
This point might seem obvious but not everyone gives up on their favourite phone just because it doesn’t work anymore. Maybe you have worked out an elaborate routine for getting around the problem or perhaps you have simply settled for only using the functions which still work. In either case you would be much better off giving up on it and getting a new one. It will certainly give you a lot less hassle than you currently experience in trying to get a final few calls out of a phone which has almost given up the ghost.
You Want More Functions
It seems that every new phone that comes out these days has something interesting which older models lack. There is nothing wrong with wanting to move with the times and get a phone which is more interesting and useful than your current one. A good idea is to sell your old one to a site. This will let you recover some of the cash you spent on it and therefore put a bit more money towards your new one.
You Are Bored of It
We can all get bored of our gadgets after a while. When you bought it you probably thought it was great but now you have discovered all of its secrets and want something else to use and play on. This is perfectly normal behaviour and nothing to feel ashamed of. Your new one probably won’t keep you entertained for the rest of your life either so you should be prepared to change again once you get bored of this one too.
You Find a Great Deal
Of course things could happen the other way round as well. You might be perfectly happy with your current model until you come across something better at a price you can’t resist. We all get tempted by fantastic new gadgets now and then and if you have the cash then there is no harm in treating yourself to a smart new phone.
